Ray Engineering, Inc. is an architectural engineering firm striving to provide clients with services of the highest quality.  Each job is given our personal attention to assure the product provided meets the client’s needs, wants and expectations.

Vicki L. Ray, P.E., President, is a licensed architectural engineer.  Her background includes disciplines of architectural engineering related to building systems: HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and lighting. She started Ray Engineering, Inc. in November, 2002.  Previously, she worked for two engineering/ architectural firms in Oklahoma City.

Peter G. Ray, P.E. is a licensed mechanical engineer. His twenty-five years of experience adds greatly to our firm’s ability to provide the highest quality of engineering on a variety of projects.  Peter’s experience in construction oversight and campus operation at a major university in Oklahoma City provides the valuable experience in academic building design.  He is our company expert in industrial installations and large steam and chilled water plant design.

Sheela Prasad has a Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and is a Certified Lighting Designer.  She has designed lighting and power systems on prestigious projects such as the Ford Center, Will Rogers Airport, Command and General Staff College, UCO School of Dance, OU Conoco Leadership Center, Jim Thorpe Museum and Cameron University.

Atul Swamy, received his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 2011. While perceiving his Masters he worked with the University of Oklahoma, AME Department as a research assistant and with Engineered Equipment Inc. as an inside sales intern.  During his studies, he along with Dr. Li Song, published one journal, two conference papers and a research thesis on Non-Intrusive unit level flow measurement.  Prior to receiving his Masters, Atul received a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Nagpur University in India.

Gary Baker is a mechanical drafting designer with various military, industrial and commercial experiences. 

Mark Ebel is an electrical drafting designer with various residential, industrial and commercial experience.

Local Government:

Garvin County Courthouse.  HVAC and plumbing renovation for a 32,000 SF courthouse listed under National Historic Preservation.  Special design considerations included the addition of mechanical ventilation to meet current outside air code requirements, combining the existing boiler systems for the courthouse and annex into one energy efficient system, and installation of new systems without disturbing historically significant ceilings.  The project is phased over several years allowing funding to accumulate through a county bond.

The Reed Center:  Midwest City Convention Center. Mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and lighting design for a 66,000 SF facility.  Special design considerations for this facility include: state of the art audio and communications system, specially designed theatrical lighting system for the main convention hall, emergency electrical generator, heating hot water boiler system, chilled water chiller/cooling tower system and a full commercial kitchen.



Heavener Public Library. Mechanical and plumbing design of new city library.

Nobel Public Library. Mechanical and plumbing design of addition to city library.

Chickasha Opera House.  Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and lighting designs for remodel of old opera house into a retail, office and cultural center complex.

Chickasha Public Works Facility. Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and lighting design for 20,000 SF maintenance and 5000 SF office facility.  Special design considerations for this facility include: sawdust removal, welding exhaust and automotive exhaust systems, vehicle wash facility and fuel pump stations, central compressed air system and emergency electrical generator system.

Otoe-Missouria Nation Transit Station.  HVAC and plumbing design for a 5,000 SF vehicle maintenance and office facility.

Myriad Botanical Gardens Improvements.  Fire suppression system renovation and upgrade, reverse osmosis water treatment system improvements and cooling tower replacement for Oklahoma City’s Crystal Bridge.

Chickasha Sports Complex.  Mechanical and plumbing design exterior sports complex.  Buildings included concession stands, offices, toilet facilities and maintenance shop.

El Reno Jenks Simmons Fieldhouse. Mechanical and plumbing design of 18,000 SF city gymnasium and lobby.

El Reno Lake Facility. Mechanical and plumbing design of 5,000 SF city golf and country club house.

El Reno Memorial Stadium. Mechanical and plumbing design of 7,500 SF stadium including broadcasting area, lockers, public toilets and concession stand.

Broken Bow Forestry Service Facility. Mechanical and plumbing design of 3,600 SF administration building.

State Government:

Oklahoma State Capitol. Study of existing plumbing systems serving the Capitol building and assessment of current conditions.  A report of the findings will be presented to the State Legislature for consideration in the allotment of funds toward the repair and replacement of plumbing systems prior to the Capitol’s Centennial Anniversary.

Oklahoma Military Department –Air National Guard Sand Springs Facility. TAC Vista 5.0 Upgrade of the Energy Management Control System.

Oklahoma Governor’s Mansion Pool.  Plumbing design for renovation of Governor’s Mansion Pool including water softening, heating, filtration, pumping and piping.

State of Oklahoma Emergency Management Center.  Mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and lighting design to renovate a 12500 SF existing 1960’s bomb shelter into an emergency response center.  Special design considerations included detection and filtration of air-borne contaminates in the outside air, connection to existing state building heating water and chilled water and electrical power during normal operation and separate systems during emergency operation.

Federal Government:

Little Rock Air Force Base Parachute Drying Tower. Mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and lighting design for a 2,000 SF by 80 foot tall tower.  Special design considerations for this facility include: heating system designed to dry 60 cargo parachutes in 72 hours.

Tinker Building 3301 Cooling Tower.  Review of test and balance report on new cooling tower and variable speed drives.


Education:

Metro Tech Auto Service Technology Center. Mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and lighting design for a 35,000 SF training facility.  Special design considerations for this facility include: auto service stalls with electrical and compressed air service drops, infra-red heating, specialized automotive exhaust system, auto lifts and a wash bay; computer labs; audio and communications systems; theatrical lighting system for the main lecture hall.

Metro Tech Building “C” Remodel. Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and lighting design for remodel of industrial shop area into classrooms.  Special design considerations for this facility include: removal of existing industrial services, addition of air conditioning to the space, lighting specially designed for computer applications, isolated and surge protected electrical system.

Metro Tech Building “B” Remodel. Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and lighting design for remodel of industrial shop area into computer aided drafting classrooms.  Special design considerations for this facility include: removal of existing industrial services, addition of air conditioning to the space, lighting specially designed for computer applications, isolated and surge protected electrical system.

Metro Tech Building “A” Cooling Tower Replacement. Mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design for replacement of two existing cooling towers with one larger cooling tower, replacement of condenser pumps and piping, and addition of DDC controls to the system.

Metrotech EMS Training Facility. Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and lighting design to renovate an existing bus barn into classrooms.

Metro Tech HVAC Training Unit. Mechanical, plumbing, structural and electrical design for addition of air-handling unit to be used for service training exercises.

OSU-OKC Nursing Lab Remodel.  Mechanical, plumbing, medical gases, electrical and lighting design for remodel of nurse training facility.

Red Lands Community College. Replaced custom HVAC units on existing library and classroom building.

Kiamichi Technology Center – Durant Campus. Mechanical renovation of HVAC systems for 27,000 SF classroom building and lecture hall.

Kiamichi Technology Center – Hugo Campus. Mechanical renovation of HVAC systems for 8,000 SF administration building.

Kiamichi Technology Center – Wilburton Campus. Mechanical renovation of HVAC systems for 10,000 SF classroom building and lecture hall.

Kiamichi Technology Center – Idabel Campus. Mechanical renovation of HVAC systems for nursing science laboratory and classroom building.

Kiamichi Technology Center – Stigler Campus. HVAC study comparing five HVAC system options for replacement of existing water-source heatpump system.

Woodward Early Childhood Development Center. Mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design for a new 66,000 SF early childhood development center.  Special design considerations for this facility include: LEED Certification, Geothermal HVAC Design, 39 classrooms, media center, multipurpose room, administration area, commercial kitchen and cafeteria.

Deer Creek High School. Mechanical, plumbing and  fire protection design for a 38,700 SF addition.  Special design considerations for this facility include: a full commercial kitchen and cafeteria, science laboratories, standard classrooms and administration areas; also integration of new systems with systems of two existing facilities.

Geronimo High School. Mechanical and plumbing design for a monolithic dome high school campus including: several classroom buildings, kitchen and cafeteria building, administration building and multipurpose arena building.  Special design considerations included use of energy ventilation units for exhaust and outside air, mini-split air conditioning units serving each space, load calculations for unique building structure with extremely low envelope loads.

Leoti High School. Mechanical and plumbing design for the renovation of the existing high school and the addition of a monolithic dome athletic department.  Special design considerations included use of energy ventilation units for exhaust and outside air, mini-split air conditioning units serving each space, load calculations for unique building structure with extremely low envelope loads.

Cashion High School HVAC Renovation. HVAC renovation of existing chiller, cooling tower, boiler, pumps, three multi-zone air-handling units and control system.

Deer Creek Middle School. Mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and lighting design for a 46,500 SF addition and a 45,700 SF renovation.  Special design considerations for this facility include: a new gymnasium and wrestling room with lockers and showers, a full commercial kitchen, a new media center, new music and band rooms and integration of a computer network system into all classrooms.

Deer Creek Rose Union Elementary School. Mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design for a new 51,000 SF elementary school.  Special design considerations for this facility include: storm shelter, gymnasium, full commercial kitchen, media center, and classrooms.

Woodward High School Weight Room & Hitting Facility. Mechanical, plumbing and electrical design of a building used for athletic weight training and indoor baseball and softball hitting practice.

Woodward High School Agriculture Barn. Mechanical, plumbing and electrical design for a building to house the agriculture departments livestock.  The facility includes an area for housing cattle, sheep and swine.  It also includes livestock washing and clipping areas.

Midwest City/Del City Schools Renovation.   Mechanical, electrical and lighting classroom renovations for several local schools.

Chandler Nursing Center.  Mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical and lighting design for a 55,000 SF facility.  Special design considerations for this facility include: a 126 Ton ground-source heat-pump system, an emergency generator, a specialized life safety system, a full commercial kitchen and laundry.

Wyatt Dental Clinic.  Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and lighting design for Tulsa dental clinic.

Rush Springs Medical Clinic.  Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and lighting design for medical clinic.

Oklahoma City VA Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Lab.  Mechanical, plumbing, medical gases, and fire protection design for remodel of Lab.

Oklahoma City VA Hospital CT Scan Room HVAC.  HVAC system replacement.

Muskogee, OK VA Hospital CT Scan Room.  Mechanical, plumbing, medical gases, fire protection, electrical and lighting design for remodel of radiology into CT Scan Room.

Will Rogers Business Park.  Converted 1,200,000 SF industrial tire plant to warehouse / industrial space.  Included HVAC feasibility study, design of heating systems using both gas and steam, 6” direct bury 275 lb. steam pipe from cogeneration plant to facility.

PowerSmith Cogeneration Plant – RO Filtration System.  Electrical feasibility study and design for addition of Reverse Osmosis filtration system to existing cogeneration plant.

General Motors Oklahoma City Plant.  Mechanical and electrical design in association with The Trane Company for system replacement to tornado damaged CMM facility. Special design considerations for this facility include:  strict temperature and humidity requirements; replacement of existing DX air handling units with chilled and hot water coil air handling units, addition of new chillers and hot water heat exchanger; steam humidification; connection to existing building steam system; and replacement of HVAC control system.

UPONOR Manufacturing, Shawnee, Ok. Powder Coating Improvement.  Mechanical advice for improving pipe heating process prior to powder coating.


Commercial:

Loves Country Store and Various Restaurants. Mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design for several facilities throughout the nation.  Restaurants included McDonalds, Arby’s, Chester’s Fried Chicken, Godfather’s Pizza, Carl’s Jr. and Subway.  Some facilities also included a tire service barn and truck wash.

Conoco Filling Station and Burger King. Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and lighting design for several facilities.

Phillips 66 Filling Station and Burger King. Mechanical, plumbing, electrical and lighting design for a local facility.

Starbucks.  Mechanical and plumbing design for a retail center and Starbucks Retail Coffee Shop.

Heartland Gun Range. Mechanical design for a 14 station interior gun range.   Special design considerations for this facility include: high airflow rates to move gun fire smoke and debris down range and away from the shooter, laminar airflow across the shooting line, lead dust filtration, exhaust and conditioning of make-up air.

Gourmet Vue.  Mechanical and plumbing design for renovation of historical building into a Gourmet Coffee Shop.
